Creating a home online for a Columbia River Basin sanctuary of animals

Tumbleweed Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit providing lifelong care and enrichment for farm animals. They accomplish this through animal rescue, community engagement, events, and education.

In an effort to establish their online presence, Tumbleweed Animal Sanctuary reached out to us for assistance in designing a website. It was crucial that the site accurately reflected the organization’s passion for animal welfare and community engagement. Additionally, the organization sought a platform that could be easily updated and managed in-house following the website’s launch.

Our approach

A playful farm aesthetic

The design of the website was inspired by the happy animals and environment at Tumbleweed Animal Sanctuary. Natural tones laid the foundation for a modern professional site with an earthy feel. We chose orange, a prominent color among the animals at the sanctuary, as an accent color to draw attention to key links and elements on the site.

To showcase the resident animals, we selected a variety of photographs that capture the joy and spirit of the sanctuary’s inhabitants. These pictures were prominently used throughout the design and featured a “torn” edge effect to complement the sanctuary’s rustic aesthetic.

“The website Myna Design created for our 501c3 nonprofit is perfect. They did an excellent job designing a website that reflected our needs and the feeling we wanted the website to provide. Katie and Mark are very professional, responsive, and enjoyable to work with.”
